3. Utility Programs: Maintian and optimize the computer system. Tasks include antivirus scanning, disk cleanup, and file management.
4. Firmware: Software permanently stored in a device's ROM. Controls hardware functions at a basic level.
5. Language Translators: Convert programming code into machine code. Types- compilers, interpreters and assemblers.

3. Briefly describe the types of application software.
Answer: Types of application software:
1. General purpose application software: Examples- MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc.
2. Customized Application Software: Developed for specific user or organization needs.
3. Mobile Applications: Designed for smartphones and tablets. Available through app stores.
4. Business software: Helps in running business operations. Example- CRM, ERP.

4. Define the terms: file, folder
Answer: 
File: A file is a collection of data or information stored on a computer. It can contain text, images, videso, software or any type of content.
Folder: A folder is used to organize and store multiple files or other folders. It helps keep files neatly arranged and easy to find.

5. How can you delete a folder?
Answer: Steps to delete folder on windows:
1. Right-click the folder you want to delete.
2. Select Delete from the menu.
3. The folder will move to the recycle bin.
4. To permanently delete it, righ click the recycle bin and select Empty recycle bin.

E. Answer the following (long answer) questions.
1. What is the difference between drive and folder?
Answer: 
Drive: A storage location on a computer or device. It stores all type of data. Example- C: drive, D: drive, USB drive etc. It is a higher level storage unit.
Folder: A container used to organize files. It stores groups related files or folders. Example- Document, Pictures etc.

2. Write the steps to view large icons in a folder.
Answer: Steps to view large icons in a folder:
1. Open the folder where you want to change the icon view.
2. On the top menu bar, click on view.
3. A drop-down or ribbon will appear.
4. Select large icons from the list.
5. The folder will now display files and folders as large icons.

3. Write down the steps to copy files from one folder to another.
Answer: Steps to copy files from one folder to another:
1. Open the folder that contains the file you want to copy.
2. Right click on the file you want to copy.
3. Click on copy from the context menu.
4. Now, open the destination folder where you want to paste the file.
5. Right click inside the folder.
6. Click on paste.


4. Why you should not edit or delete someone else's file/folder?
Answer: 
1. Respect for others work: The file or folder may contain important work that someone else created or needs.
2. Loss of important data: Deleting or editing can cause permanent loss of valuable information.
3. Privacy violation: The content may be personal or confidential, and accessing it without permission in unethical.
4. Creates confusion or problems: Changing files without knowledge can lead to errors or misunderstandings.
5. Against rules or policies: Most schools, offices, and systems have rules that prohibit tampering with others data.
