1. What is a Word processor? Name some popular word processors.
Answer: A word processor is an application software used to create, edit, format and print any type of document like a report, letter, notice, circular, schedule, poster, resume, memo or agenda etc.
Some word processing software are: OpenOffice Writer, Microsoft Word, Libre Office Writer, Google Docs etc.

2. What is the use of find and replace feature in MS Word?
Answer: Find and replace feature is used to find any word or sentence in the document.
Replace feature is used to replace any word or sentence in the document.

3. What is the use of ruler in the Word window?
Answer: You can use the ruler to change the format of your document quickly. 
If the ruler is not visible, just click on the view tab and then click the check box next to ruler in the show/hide group.

4. List the features of MS-Word?
Answer: List of features of MS Word:
1. Quick Access Toolbar
2. Home 
3. Insert
4. Page Layout
5. View
6. Design etc

5. What is the function of UNDO command? How is it different from the redo command?
Answer: UNDO command is used to unchanged the text. Redo command is used to see the changes.

6. How will you move a line of text from one position to another in a document?
Answer: To move a line of text from one position to another follow the steps:
1. Select the text.
2. Click on Cut option on Home tab.
3. Move the cursor where you want to move the text.
4. Click on paste option from Home tab.

7. Name the types of objects that can be inserted in a MS Word document.
Answer: We can insert pictures, clipart images, shapes, symbols, special characters and tables etc.

8. What are the shortcut keys for copying and pasting objects?
Answer: Shortcut key for copy: Ctrl+C
Shortcut for Paste: Ctrl+V

9. Write the shortcut keys to select a word, a sentence, a paragraph and whole document.
Answer: To select a word , a sentence -shortcut key : Ctrl+C
Shortcut key for select whole document: Ctrl+A

10. How will you add an image in a document? Give a brief answer.
Answer: To add image in a document follow the steps:
1. Select Insert tab.
2. Click on Picture option.
3. Select your desired picture.
4. Click on Insert.

11. What do you understand by Formatting?
Answer: Formatting means changes or editing the document.
There are different types of formatting available in MS Word like Text formatting, Character formatting, page formatting etc.

12. How many types of formatting available in MS Word?
Answer: There are different types of formatting available in MS Word:
1.  Formatting the document
2. Text formatting
3. Character formatting
4. Paragraph formatting
5. Page formatting

13. How word indicates spelling and grammar errors in a document?
Answer: MS Word indicates spelling errors with red wavy line and grammar error with green wavy line.
 
14. What is the use of thesaurus tool? Explain with an example.
Answer: The built-in Thesaurus feature in MS Word enables us to look for synonyms, antonyms, word substitutes, and alternative spellings.

15. What is a bulleted list? How will you create a bulleted list. 
Answer: A bullet is a small symbol that precedes every item in a bulleted list. A bulleted list is created in a document to include items or statements point-wise, when order of list items in not important.
Select the text on which you want to apply bullets.
Click on Bullet option in the Paragraph group on Home tab.

16. What are margins? How many types of margins can be defined in a MS Word document?
Answer: A margin is the space between the text and an edge of our document.
There are four types of margins: left, right, top and bottom.

17. What is meant by Alignment? Name the different types of alignments.
Answer: Alignment means align the text in the document. There are different types of alignments like left, right, center and justify alignments.

18. What is the use of the print preview feature?
Answer: Print preview feature is used to see the preview of the document before taking printout. If we find anything wrong then we can correct it before taking printout.

19. What is the use of Header and Footer text?
Answer: Header is place at the top and Footer is place at the bottom of the document. Header and Footer is used to write the title, date, name, page number on the document.

20. What is a table? Write any two ways to insert a table in a document.
Answer: Table is a combination of rows and columns. There are three ways to insert table in a document.
To insert a table follow the steps:
1. Click on the insert tab
2. Click on table option
3. Select the cell boxes to insert the table.
