2. It can directly and immediately access data from RAM.
a. keyboard b. CPU
Answer: CPU
3. It is commonly called the pen drive or USB drive.
a. Flash drive b. DVD
Answer: Flash drive
4. The storage capacity of a computer is represented in
a. Bit b. Bytes
Answer: Bytes
D. Answer the following questions:
1. What do you mean by primary memory? Explain its types.
Answer: Primary memory is also called the internal memory. It is an important part of the computer.
The primary memory can be classified into two types:
1. RAM (Random Access Memory)
2. ROM (Read Only Memory)
2. What are the three types of ROM?
Answer: There are three types of ROM:
1. PROM(Programmable Read Only Memory)
2. EPROM(Erasable PROM)
3. EEPROM(Electrically Erasable PROM)
3. What do you understand by bit and byte?
Answer: A bit is the smallest unit of information or data. A group of 8 bits make up a byte. It is denoted by B. So, 1 byte= 8 bits.
The storage capacity of a computer is represented in bytes.
4. Can you explain the two different forms of CD-ROM?
Answer: There are two forms of CD-ROM:
1. CD-R (Compact Disk Recordable): We can write data onto it just once. The stored data can be read. Data once written onto it cannot be erased.
2. CD-RW(Compact Disk Rewritable): It is an erasable device. Data once written onto it can be erased to write or record new information many times.
5. Can you explain the use of flash drive?
Answer: It can be used to store, access, and transfer data. It is commonly called the pen drive or USB drive. It is plugged into the USB port of the computer and the computer automatically detects it.
E. Write the notes on following:
1. PROM 2. Binary digits 3. Hard disk
Answer:
1. PROM (Programmable Read Only Memory): It is the type of ROM that can be programmed to record information. Once the information has been recorded, it cannot be changed.
2. Binary digits: Computer understand only two digits 0 and 1. These are called binary digits.
3. Hard Disk: It is a part of a unit called the hard disk drive or hard drive. The hard drive is another common device which stores data.
Computer science is the study of computer and computational systems. Computer scientists deal with software and software systems, which include theory designs, development and application. Students study the design, development and analysis of software and hardware used to solve problems in a variety of business, scientific and social contextsin computer science . Thank you so much for sharing this computer science paper, it is very helpful in practicing.
