1. What is a word processor? Name some important word processing software available in the market.
Answer: Word processing software is a special type of software that has features to create and manipulate a text document, such as a resume, report, invitation, essay and write up.We typically enter text by typing into a document and the software provides tools for copying, deleting and various types of formatting.
2. What is a password? Write the steps to set up password for a document.
Answer: Password is unique code that protect our data. We can set password for any document that we have created in the MS Word. Steps for set-up password.
1. Click on the office button.
2. Click on the save as option, enter the name and location of the file.
3. Click on the tools button in the save as dialog box.
4. In the password to open field type the required password and click on the ok button.
5. Re-enter the password in the confirm password window and click on Ok.
3. How can you change the font colour of the text in MS Word?
Answer: To change the font color of the text, select the required text and click on the arrow given besides the font color button. A palette of color will appear. Select the required color from the palette.
4. What is meant by header and footer?
Answer: A header is a text that appears at the top of every page in the document. A footer, on the other hand, is a text that appear at the bottom of every page in a document. Headers and footers generally contain page numbering, file name, title of the document, the author's name, the current date and so on.
5. What is the use of the Find and Replace feature in MS Word?
Answer: The find and replace feature in the editing group of the home tab can be used to find the occurrence of some particular word or phrase in a document and replace it with another word or phrase.
To find and replace text, follow the steps given below.
1. Place the cursor at the page/section of document from where you want to start the search.
2. Select the replace option from the editing group on the home tab.
3. Enter the word to find, in the find box.
4. Enter the word to replace in the replace with box.
5. Click on the Replace button to replace the found text.
6. Click on the Replace all button to replace all occurrences of the text.
