The mouse term name originates from its likeness to a little , corded and elliptical shaped device that appears sort of a mouse tail. Some mouse devices have integrated features, like extra buttons which will be programmed and assigned with different commands.
The different types of computer mouse are:
Mechanical mouse: Mechanical mouse has rubber ball that rolls because the mouse is moved. Sensors inside the mouse body detect the movement and translate it into information that the pc interprets. Mechanical mouse was one of the first mouse used with computers.
Optical mouse: Optical mouse uses an LED sensor to detect tabletop movement and then sends off that information to the computer. Optical mouse is the most used mouse. This mouse does not work on glass, plastic surfaces.
Infrared (IR): With both these types, the mouse relays a signal to a base station wired to the computer’s mouse port. The cordless mouse requires power, which comes within the sort of batteries.
Mouse with many buttons: The mouse with extra buttons can be programmed to do specific things.
Trackball mouse: Like an upside-down mouse. Rather than roll the mouse around, you employ your thumb or index to roll a ball on top of the mouse. The whole contraption stays stationary, so it doesn’t need tons of room, and its cord never gets tangled. Optical tracking technology provides precise cursor movement for accuracy.
Stylus mouse: A mouse mutation enjoyed by the artistic type is the stylus mouse, which looks like a pen. These are expensive mouse than regular mouse. These mouses design for digital designers.It is a combination of mouse and pen.
Cordless 3-D mouse: This type of mouse can be used to pointed at the computer screen. It is a mouse without cord. It is a mouse without tail. Wireless mouse required battery, it can be connected to your computer by radio frequencies.
Laser Mouse: It works similar to optical mouse. Laser mouse does not use LED but it uses laser beam that reflect light from the surface. These mouses can be used on glass and plastic surfaces.
Touchpad: These are found on laptops. Some touch pads usually have two buttons and some are pressure-sensitive and can be used as buttons.
Tack-point Mouse: These are track point mouse. Laptops also have track pads, this pencil eraser looking mouse allows you to track the cursor without removing hands from keyboard.
Foot Mouse: Foot mouse is the weirdest mouse. This allows the computer user to navigate cursor .
Blue Track Mouse: Blue track mouse was designed by microsoft company, it uses a technology that uses combination of image sensor and pixels. These mouse can be used on rough surfaces.
Scroll Mouse: It is used for scrolling. Rolling upper side of the wheel from your body. This mouse can often also be used as a third mouse button. Scroll mouse can scroll horizontally as well as vertically.Scroll wheels are prevalent on latest computer mouse and have become an integral part of the hardware interface.
