An Input device is a hardware of computer. Input device is also called a pointing device. It is a physical part of computer.
Some input devices are keyboards, mouse, scanners, digital cameras, joysticks, and microphones.
Some Input devices of computer are:
1. Keyboard: Keyboard is a input device. It is used to give input to the pc. Different types of keys are available on keyboard like function keys, number keys, arrow keys, navigation keys, symbols keys,letter keys etc. Different keys used for different types of work. A standard keyboard has 104 keys.
2. Mouse: Mouse is a input or pointing device. It is used to give input to the pc. There are different types of mouse such as optical mouse, two button, three button, scroll mouse, wired and wireless mouse. Left button and right button of mouse used for different work like open, close, clicking, double clicking etc.
3. Scanner: Scanner is a input device. It convert hard copy into soft copy. Scanner is a type of device that captures images, posters and similar things for computer system. Today's scanners use a charge-coupled device.
4. Trackball: It is a input device. It contain a ball held by a socket that contain sensors. Trackball's buttons may be situated.
5. Joystick: It is a input device. It is used to play a game. It consist a stick that pivots on a base and reports it angle.It looks like a control device.
6. Light Pen: Light pen is a input device. It is a light-sensitive input device commonly used for select, modify text.
7. Touch screens: Touch screen is also called a input device. We can give input by touch screen.
8. Optical Card Reader (OCR): OCR stands for optical character recognition. It is a technology to recognize text, such as scanned documents.This technology is used to convert virtually any images into machine-readable text data.
9. Magnetic Ink Character Recognition(MICR): Magnetic Ink Character Recognition is a character recognition system. This technology is used by banks.It provides a secure high-speed scanning and processing information.

11. Optical Mark Reader (OMR): OMR is the process of capturing human-marked data.It is used to capture data from OMR sheet. This software is used for addding OMR marks to mail .It allows us to configure and select an OMR sequence then apply the OMR marks to mail document prior to printing.
12. Voice Recognition Devices: This device is used to recognize the voice of human. This device analyzes specific voice and uses it to fine-tune the recognition of the that user speech.It includes voice user interfaces like voice dialing, call routing.
13. Digital Camera: It is used to capture the picture in digital form. Mostly cameras are digital today. Digital and movie cameras share on optical system, typically using a lens with variable.
14. Microphone: A microphone is a device that take audio as input by converting sound waves into an electrical signals. These signals can be amplified as an analog signals or it may be converted into digital signals.
